Community Support
Local Animal Resources
This directory includes rescue organizations, TNR and community-cat programs, animal shelters, humane societies, animal-control agencies, and low-cost spay and neuter services throughout Virginia.
How to Use This Directory
Choosing the Right Resource
Different organizations provide different types of assistance. Rescue organizations may help with placement or surrender requests, TNR groups assist with community and feral cats, animal shelters respond to stray and abandoned animals, and low-cost clinics provide affordable spay and neuter services.
Many rescue organizations are foster-based and have limited space. You may need to contact several organizations, and submitting a request does not guarantee that an animal can be accepted.

Need Help Choosing?
Start With the Resource That Best Matches Your Situation
Contact a rescue organization for possible placement or surrender assistance. Contact a TNR program for community or feral cats. Contact your local shelter or animal-control agency for stray, abandoned, injured, or urgent animal concerns. Contact a low-cost clinic directly for spay and neuter pricing and appointments.
Because intake policies and availability change frequently, calling or emailing the organization before visiting is always recommended.
